ESure and Trackers

So just bought a new car and thought “I know I’ll just change my existing insurance” rather than going to the hassle of shopping round. Turns out when I phoned esure to do this they demanded I had a tracker fitted at the same time hiking the policy price.
As well as the hike in premium it turned out that a tracker was going to cost me £200 plus an annual subscription of £160. Stunned by that I shopped round and found another insurer(imho reputable) who was charging less and didn’t have this ridiculous requirement.
This was a first for me and I’ve used esure plenty of times before. Anyone else come across this before?
