Super easy Win 7 scanning app?

I've just donated my old Canon Pixma all in one printer to my mum.


I need a scanning app. The Canon ones are horrible. Drivers are all working fine so apps like Paint and Irfanview that support acquire by scanner are working. But my mum will want a standalone app with the name scan in it!


Is there anything free and ridiculously simple and straightforward anyone can recomment?

I've used several Canon all-in-one printers and found that they scanned very well indeed! Same for HP...

Think the OP was referring to the software's aesthetics as opposed to the scanning quality which should be (in theory) unaffected by the choice of software, providing you set it up properly.
