That's not an H1 bulb, looks like it does have a HID system after all.

Edit: I wonder if someone has fitted a cheap aftermarket HID kit made to replace an H1 bulb hence the odd markings. It could also explain the disappointing light output.
This was my thinking. Either a cheap unit totally or maybe the ballasts are giving up? Who knows.

He's going to try some proper H1s in there to see what it's like. If it's acceptable then carry on, otherwise a decent HID kit.

Looking at that HIDS4U. Just wondering - would you opt for the 35W or the 55W?
I can't remember what i put in mine. I know they were reflector lenses so that may make a difference. I have a funny feeling (but could easily be wrong) that i bought 55W & they were just too bright.
So i don't know whether he'd be better going for the 35W instead or with them being projector lenses they'd be fine for the 55W.

Either way i've advised against the 6000K & 8000K that they offer.
