What do you consider a luxury purchase?

Open-ended question - what do you consider a luxury purchase? For me, it’s either additional clothes that I don’t need or a nice lipstick here and there.

Anything that you don't need to survive is a luxury. The list is practically endless.
For example; the latest tech, alcohol, cigarettes, chocolate, lottery tickets, more than a couple of pairs of shoes, any lipstick at all, additional clothing that you don't wear or when you already have clothes to wear, holidays.
By the way, I'm not saying you shouldn't buy these things, I'm just saying they are examples of luxuries because you can survive without them.0 -
My luxury is jo malone handwash in the en suite. It does last for ages.0

Heating and eating, both on the same day.

Me and the family have way to many luxuries. Think it’s because we both went without when we were young. Life’s too short not to enjoy it whilst you can.0

I would add, luxury is not just anything you don't absolutely need, but also upgrading to a better quality of something you do need, e.g. spending more on a better model of washing machine. On a quotidian basis my luxuries are high quality tea and fibre broadband0

I'm fairly frugal with most things. Came from having several children and trying to do a lot on the money we had. The exception is cycling gear. I started buying really cheap gear, but have gradually upped the quality. I still look for discounts / last year's model, but spend a great deal on equipment and consumables. That's before I think of the fuel and campsites to go to cycling events I've registered for.0

If you ask OH he would probably say his biggest luxury is the Fortnum and Mason tea that he loves and I buy in bulk for him on my regular trips to London.
However to me it’s something like the meal deal I bought for me and OH for our tea tonight which is from M&S.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
Theatre tickets, gym membership, holidays and the odd meal out we count as luxuries. Technically though we spend on loads of things which aren't necessities like extra clothes, books, gadgets and luxury food and alcohol.
I hope pastures new is joking although I know for some people it is a case of either eating or heating
