Is anyone familiar with Leeds First Direct Arena

Hubby and I are going to the Leeds arena tonight and have never been there before. Whilst having a look at the website to suss out getting there, parking etc I have noticed that it says they do not have a car park on site but there are many within a 15 min walk.
I know I should have done this before getting the tickets but I just assumed a similar set up to Manchester arena where the multi storey is attached to the arena.
Problem I have is that hubby is disabled and so I need to be able to get him as close as possible. He uses crutches and a 5 mins walk is more than enough for him to handle so Im assuming that I will probably have to drop him off and then find parking. Even this is not ideal as he cannot stand for very long.
Can anyone give me advice as to where would be best to park as I don't know the area at all. He does have a blue badge if that makes any difference.
I was planning on getting there in plenty of time and then perhaps having something to eat if there is anywhere nearby and suitable rather that eating first and going later as it may be easier to find parking if we are early.
Any advice would be appreciated please. Many thanks.

There’s a car park on Merrion Street opposite the Arena and plenty of places to eat around there.

If you are looking for somewhere really nice to eat rather than the usual fast food eateries I can heartily recommend 'Arnold's'. It's not far away on the outside of the Merrion Centre. Bit pricy but really nice, We always go there when we go to the Arena.
