I have a 500. Never had a blip from it. No electrical issues etc, it's been a dream. The whole Fix It Again Tomorrow stems from an age when FIATS weren't as well built as they are now, it's usually quoted by those of a certain age
Lovely to drive too.
DD has the Aygo, I've also driven that and again, nice to drive and nippy. It's also never missed a beat.0 -
I’m very much into my cars, and love sports cars. Despite my normal cars being a bit exotic I have always absolutely loved every Fiat 500 that I’ve rented on holiday.
They really are good fun, and I’d consider one if I ever downsized a bit.
I’ve not driven the others, so can’t say. I did have a Vauxhall Adam to rent a while back, and quite enjoyed that too, so they are maybe worth a look.
Have a test drive of each of your options, you’ll probably much prefer one over the others.0 -
'We' (my hubby drove) test drove a 2013 C1 VT with 38k miles done, a 2016 C1 Feel with 20k miles done and due to have its first MOT in Sept, and a 2013 Fiat 500 Pop with 18k miles done.
The 1st C1 was horrible, basic, plasticy, sounded rough and just a car.
The newer C1 was much nicer, drove well, sounded less strained but again we felt it was just a car, a nicer one but nothing special.
We both had reservations about the Fiat 500, it looks so small but the minute we sat in it we both thought wow! It felt roomier, and altogether different, more robust, nicer interior, handled better, we liked everything about it, and it felt fun to be in lol. Then I read some owner reviews on various sites and after several all pretty much saying the same thing about having expensive repairs on the engine, clutch, gear box we thought we should take a wide berth.
I would love to find out that things have improved as Pulliptears has said, but sadly as much as I still would like a 500 it really has put me off.0 -
Hello
My wife has a Fiat 500 Lounge 1.2 (65 plate with facelift) It is her 2nd. She loves it, and when I get to drive it I love driving it too (very different to my Nissan X-Trail). She gets 50mpg out of it. With the glass roof and ivory dash an steering wheel it is very light and bright inside. She has owned it since it was 15 months old and it had 9k on the clock. There has not been a thing wrong with it. She loves the colour - Mint Green.
I love it when people quote their little acronyms as if it actually means something, and it seems that everyone has their pet (funny?) acronyms. When I worked for the courier company DHL, TNT meant 'Tomorrow Not Today'. When I later worked for TNT, DHL were refered to as Drop it, Hide it, Lose it. - Hilarious.
Anyway, back to the car, I would recommend a 500 to anyone.
Regards
Phil0
