Product transfer: change of circumstances

My 2-year fix is coming to an end towards the end of this year. Just for comparison, I've started looking at the rates offered on product transfers with my current lender vs. rates I would get by remortgaging to a new lender...
One incentive for staying with the current lender is to avoid the hassle of a new mortgage application, with credit check and all the paperwork involved. Plus, we are expecting our first child. So my wife will be on maternity leave by the time we need to apply for a new fix, and at the moment not sure when/if she will go back to work.
Obviously I would need to disclose this to the new lender as part of a remortgage application (which could make the process more complicated), but I was wondering if this also needed to be disclosed to our current lender if we simply wanted a product transfer?
When we applied about 18 months ago, we got the mortgage offer based on both our incomes. Would the new lender not want to know about a significant change in our circumstances? Or do they not ask any questions and simply assume we can still afford the current repayments?

If it’s a switch of product online then no need to disclose anything.0
