Mystery storage heater

Hi everyone, we have in our rented flat a quite old storage heater. Up to now we only used it when required without using the "storage" feature, as we are unable to understand how the input/output controls work. It does definitely work when we turn the switch on, but it seem we cannot regulate the input/output. We have controls we have on the top right, these do not look like the ones we can fine online so we are confused... The heater is so old there is no brand or model name anywhere. If anybody could help, it would be amazing!
Thanks in advance!

That is an oldie, isn't it?

Looks to me like you can have no bars, one bar, two bars, or three bars of storage depending on those switch positions. They did not have output controls in the olden days, as there were two charge periods.

Look up the maximum temperature for the next day every evening, and try setting as follows:

Temp over 15 degrees: No bars
Temp 10 degrees to 15 degrees: 1 bar
Temp 5 degrees to 9 degrees: 2 bars
Temp up to 4 degrees: 3 bars.

Looks like you control the vertical grills with a slide bar, opening and closing, then a 1-5 fan to assist convected heat

What an oldie. Possibly a very early Constor Creda Electricaire Creda Sunhouse Dimplex Dunlop or Westayr. Dating from the 1950's.

I agree with jko about the storage ' input settings. As the switches are its set to input 1; switching the left hand off and the right hand on would select 2 and both on 3 - rather like a portable fan heater.

I don't think Tom99 is quite right. What looks like a grill with white sections I think is just for show The second picture shows a rotary switch 0 -5 with it set to off. I think this is a fan assist output - top convector light will show red (and there may be an master time switch somewhere) and the bottom one will come on when the dial is set to a number. Its set at 0 at the moment which means no assist. Set it to 1 and see if a blower kicks in and the first grill changes from white to red.

Probably on a very old tariff with afternoon boosts.

Get your LL to change it. !

Sounds like a tall order for a heater dating from, by the looks of it, the early 1970s.
