Puegeot 107 roof/boot leak!
Good afternoon everyone!
I am new to this forum but was wondering if anyone could help me out.
I have a 2006 puegeot 107 3 door, I noticed today that I have a wet patch on the roof (passenger side near boot). I have no idea what this could be.
It's been very wet and windy today! But I went back out and thought I'd look a bit more...
I pulled the seats forward and on the same side in the boot, the mat that covers the spare tyre is drenched!
I'm unsure if that part could be from it leaking from behind the rear lights but then why's the ceiling wet! This is my first car and am obviously panicked by it all
.
I would really appreciate some tips of what the ceiling leak Could be and how I could stop it!
Hope to speak soon!
I do have photos but I'm unsure if/how I could add them on here.

I feel your pain - leaks can be very difficult to trace.
I'd start off by checking the obvious things - do all the windows close properly ? Check the condition of the rubber seal around all the doors and boot - is it fitted securely, is it perished ? Seals are not too tricky to replace, and if you're lucky you'll be able to find a second hand one from a breakers yard.
As you say, check that the light clusters are properly sealed, make sure the rubber gaskets are all OK.
The ceiling damp patch - this could be condensation if there's already a lot of moisture in the car. Failing that, have you got a sunroof ? If so, again, check the seal. Likewise, if there's an aerial on the roof, check its seal where it meets the roof.
Basically, check all the seals :-) For the simple reason that they're pretty easy to visually check, and not too difficult or expensive to replace.
If you get no joy with that, you need to find out where the leak is coming from. Get an assistant to spray a hosepipe all over the car, bit by bit, whilst you crawl around inside and try and see if you can spot any drips. This may include crawling inside the boot with a torch at the ready. Also, spray from underneath to see if there's any holes in the floorpan or wheel arches (water will get thrown up under the car whilst you're driving). Spray the windscreen, especially the edges. If the windscreen seal has gone you'll need to get one of these windscreen companies to replace it, but at least you'll know where the leak is.
Sorry, I can't give you a definite answer. But hopefully this will give you a few things to try. At the end of the day, finding the leak is usually the tricky bit, fixing it once you know what it is is usually not too difficult :-)0 -
Common problem on Aygos, not so much on 107s of that era. All I will say is good luck.
After 5 years our Aygo rear lights, rear window, high level brake light area all let water in.
Start by removing rear lights and check the seals are still in good condition, after 12 years they may have deteriorated.0 -
Have the door seals been replaced? Known fault on 107's. We always park DD's 107 on a slope as the doors still leak. Aerial may need sealing and possibly the black strips along the roof.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
