Am i fed BS by British Gas
So after years of been on British gases standard tariff i phoned them to say that i was far from happy with amount im paying each month which is a combined Gas and Electric of £240 a month. Both accts are just in credit. They said they could do nothing and if i changed it it would cost me more. I said that if i was coming to them as a new customer im sure id get a better deal which they said i wouldnt. The house is a three bed bungelow and theres only 2 of us living here. Any suggestions where to go for a better deal.?

For an unbiased view, use the Citizens Advice Bureau price comparison site
https://energycompare.citizensadvice.org.uk/
Take your actual annual energy used from 2 bills that are 12 months apart and use that in the website to get accurate price comparisons.0 -

The title of your thread says it all. Another example of how poor customer service can be.
As you have been on a Standard Tariff and (I assume) never swopped you savings could well be substantial.
As others have said put your actual consumption for 12 months into a comparison site. The DD you will be quoted is a best guess. Let us know.
Swop and read your meters every month, monitor your bills.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
