XBox 1 needs blueray cleaned...?

The game shop explained that as I have a wood burning stove, its more likely that the "glass/lens" that the blueray lazer fires through may well be dirty and thus not letting the xbox play any xbox 1 games( it still plays xbox 360 games. Howver, getting a cleaning disc was not east and "even" PC world did not have one in stock, Amazon...there re a few but some only work as top loaders and not slot in ….anyone used such a disc on an xbox 1 with success? Or is there another way I can do this? Many thanks in advance,K.

I don't have experience with the Xbox but I used to repair lots of professional CD players, used in smokey night clubs etc. Smoke residue getting onto the lens was a real issue.
Generally cleaning discs are just a disc with tiny brushes in it to move dust off the lens surface, and are useless with smoke residue. The better approach is to carefully clean the lens surface with isoproply alcohol on a cotton bud - but this means dismantling the player first.
If the laser is really bad then the only fix is a replacement laser unit - they are usually quite generic and not that expensive.
