Tesco magazine has teamed up with ABC Boat Hire to give readers a chance to win one of two boating holidays on the English or Welsh waterways.

Jump on board a canal boat, steer a course and enjoy the peace and quiet that a boating holiday can offer. Stop off whenever you please – for a pub lunch, a spot of fishing, or to take in the beautiful surroundings. As the captain of your boat, you decide where to stop and what to see.

Two lucky winners will enjoy a fantastic seven-night stay on a canal boat that sleeps up to eight people. There’s a choice of eight departure locations to choose from within Berkshire, Cheshire, Northamptonshire, South Wales or the Welsh Borders – and every spot is idyllic. And don’t worry if you haven’t handled a boat before, as full training will be given, as well as buoyancy aids and a boat licence.

All boats are kitted out with a small kitchen that’s equipped with a full range of crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and kitchen utensils. There’s a bathroom with hand basin, flush toilet and shower. Bed linen, towels, fuel and a damage waiver are also included. There’s a fabulous breakfast hamper on arrival, heating for those chilly evenings and even waterproofs for the helmsman – everything you and your boating party need for a great stay.

Prize fund: There are two prizes. Each prize is a seven-night, self-drive, self-catering canal boat holiday with ABC Boat Hire for up to 8 people. Each winner, and their chosen guests, will stay on a canal boat that sleeps 8 people, and can choose from one of eight departure locations: Aldermaston Wharf – Berkshire, Alvechurch Marina – Worcestershire, Anderton Marina – Cheshire, Blackwater Meadow Marina – Shropshire, Gayton Marina – Northamptonshire, Hilperton Marina – Wiltshire, Whitchurch Marina – Shropshire, Worcester Marina – Worcestershire, Goytre Wharf – South Wales or Wrenbury Mill – Welsh Borders. Prize excludes departures from Falkirk – Fourth & Clyde, March, Rugby, Union Wharf, Gailey and Reedley.
Travel to and departure from boatyard is at winner’s own cost.

There must be a minimum crew of two adults (18+) to operate the boat safely.
