I'm looking for an online 3d print company that accepts small orders.

I need some adapters for radiators TRVs (mine are really old). I've found some 3d print designs online.

Looking for someone to print it is proving quite tricky.
All the suppliers have fancy websites but don't advertise the minimum order value clearly.

Anyone know of an online printer that does small jobs, cheaply?

I'd like to order about 4 adapters which should work out £10-£20 for the whole job.

That wouldn't be worth anyone's time in even setting up the job never mind cost of materials and postage/packing.

Id be looking towards a local makerspace/hackspace. Very likely to have a 3d printer and the techies to operate and are usually happy to take on small jobs for a contribution to the club.

Theyre usually community projects for hobbyists.

"3D Printing UK" and ask if their is anyone in your area that would be willing to do it for a fee.

They are usually a couple of people willing to print things out for others.

If you were prepared to pay just over £55 (including delivery), it appears that this supplier (second in list of search results) would take your job:

"We have a minimum order of £40 + vat per order. The minimum order applies to the order as a whole, not per part on the order. This means that if your part(s) come to below the minimum order, you can up the quantities or add more files to make up the difference.
The minimum order does not include shipping."

  • I have a friend with a 3d printer who does one-off prints for people. (It's mostly board-game stuff he does, but would be happy to print anything off thingiverse.) I won't advertise his services here, but you can PM me if you want a contact.

From his webpage : "Fully custom designs, or models from Thingiverse, are also available; again, get in touch to talk about what's possible."

I think he used to offer his services via the 3dhub network, but that has now gone business-to-business. I'm sure there must be other hobbyist networks around. He mentions "3dseeker" in his blog, so you could have a look on there.
  • Your local library may have access to a 3d printer.

    Setting up the job?
If they're a 3d printing business, and the printer is in use every day, I don't see much setting up required.

P&P would be about £5 extra I imagine.
Not talking about bit items here.

Given the costs I've seen so far, a cheap 3d printer for £150 is more attractive. But that's just me looking for a good excuse to buy a new toy.

So you don't believe the employee doing the setup and ensuring the printing goes without error should be getting paid at all? ;)

I have 2x 3D printers and used to sell prints via 3dhubs before they changed their business model.
You can message me with the item link and i'll work out a price to do it including postage.
