How to remove name from mortgage

Options
Somebody please help I am in a pickle. Me and my husband are first time buyers. We initially qualified for the help to buy scheme. After sending all relevant paperwork over to the agents they noticed I was a home owner on my credit report. As far as I'm aware this is my dad's house and he pays the mortgage but I am the registered home owner. Now the issue is as I'm the registered home owner I do not qualify for the htb scheme and therefore cannot apply for a mortgage. My question is how do I remove my name from the mortgage? What does this involve. I have already spoken to the lender with regards to this and they have said I need a solicitor to sort this out. Help please :(

That is correct. Consult a legal professional.

Even with your name removed, this may still exclude you from being considered a ‘first time buyer’ - before spending unnecessary fees, makes sure this will have the desired outcome.
