  • Becuase i just found out what those were and becuase i haven’t heard about it perhaps it’s not worth it or too complicated or something else becuase when mostly you hear about people investing thier money in ssaving or property but not so much what you mentioned.

    Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) are trust companies that you invest in, by buying shares, who own large portfolios of property. They then pay their profits out as dividends.

    It's much like investing in any other company except the tax rules and profit rules are different.

    The smarter small time landlords started getting out of BTL a couple of years ago.
    But they need someone to sell to.
    That someone could be you...

    Yeh i know i looked ot up. It’s risky though right... i know so is buying a BTL but one must be a better choice than the other...

    Im trusting this company who could go bust or lose money.. atleast with btl i will be in control of my investment.

    You are far more likely to 'go bust' than a REIT. REIT's have extensive and diverse portfolios, so even when one property suffers a loss this is relatively easily absorbed by the others.

    If your one property suffers huge damage that you cannot afford to repair then that could be you going under.

    Most REITs are currently offering yields of 4-6%.
