Wedding reception

My daughter is due to marry in May. Last night she attended the meal choosing event. After choosing the afternoon wedding meal successfully she was informed that the evening food would consist of sausage and bacon sandwiches. She made clear that she hadn't agreed to this when she signed the contract and expected a buffet for the evening reception. It states in the contract light snacks, but nowhere does it state sausage and bacon sandwiches. She has been told she can have a buffet consisting of 3 items. If she wants to upgrade to a buffet she will need to pay an extra £500.
Does anyone have any advice on where she stands with this. Or does she just have to grin and bear it

    Light snacks is pretty vague.

But to be fair shouldn't your daughter have sorted this at the time of booking? Food at weddings is one of the most important things and "light snacks" warranted further investigation at the time.

I'm sure there can be a compromise, figure out what you want and put it to them. But if you're not prepared to spend any more money then sausage and bacon sandwiches are at least something guests will eat. The vegetarians will of course starve as no one ever thinks of them.

Did she not ask what the 'light snacks' were?

Why did she expect a buffet? Did she assume 'light snacks' meant a buffet?

Sausage and Bacon sandwiches are hardly what you would call a light snack!

Yummy though! I'd be quite pleased with that!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I would have interpreted “light snacks” as crisps and nuts to be honest. Hot food sounds like a bonus to me!
