so we have no chance...Council does not see the bigger picture and the problems that it has caused..
Make a formal complaint to the council in writing and copy to your MP?0 -
we have decided to sell and get out of it ..... and the viewers are concerned about the many pot holes
Why not just get the road fixed to a decent standard, as far as your house only. Then go back to being happy in your house, or sell it. With the road in a good state, that will be much less of a problem.0 -
Thanks for all that has responded, just one more question:
If an accident occurs along the track in a pot hole, is the owner responsible..
For example: When I take the rubbish down the track and twist my ankle in a pot hole...0 -
We are almost at the end of the track and the barn is next door, every time we repair it they travel so fast it all comes out again, to repair it to a good standard would cost thousands.0

We have been all over this like a rash, they started storing their equipment here and running business, so I contacted the council to make them aware of it, and then they put in for planning to run their business and storage, we objected again and again and again, however they were given permission for storage only, from 8 am to 8 pm, So you can imagine we are sat in the garden on a beautiful Sunday evening and coming down the track at 7.30 pm at speed is a tractor with a trailer, and then another vehicle and another and another....It was even Christmas day !!
Sick and fed up with it....:mad:0 -
If the business uses the barn for storage and that's primarily what they're doing, then there's nothing that can be done.
Farm barns may be used legitimately for all sorts of activities, not just storage. The one next to me used to house animals, but like many others, it became redundant when changes in farming practice made it redundant. Now it's used by a thatcher's business. Straw and reed are quiet and don't smell, but they're loaded with a tractor and there's other work with chain saws involved. The vehicles relating to the business come and go from dawn to as late as 10pm in summer. However, tractors and machines working the fields are out there with floodlights at that time, so why not? The countryside isn't some kind of rural museum; it's some people's working environment.
I wouldn't want the barn to revert to its former use; pigs would bring far greater problems!0
