Back car doors sticking..
Hi,
I have an old Polo 57 plate. The locks on both back doors when sticking, now when I put the key in to lock/unlock they're both stuck in the down position so I can't get the the doors open at all now.
Is this a big job to get fixed and do you know roughly how much it would be? I'm clueless lol.
Thanks!

The mechanisms probably just need oiled if you don't use them much. It'll probably be a bigger job to get them open in the first place.
Your local backstreet garage should be able to sort it out for you pretty cheap.0 -

Would you recommend going to a VW dealer or would an independent garage be ok?0 -

Standard nightmare vw locks maybe? If they won't release using the interior handle it's probably the lock micro switch that's packed up/dirty. YouTube to fix from outside or door card/regulator off from inside, no laughing matter!
Try thumping around the door lock whilst attempting to open or just keep trying the central locking/key, it can take many goes.
Unless you've been playing with the kiddie locks?Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. I havent seen much movement yet, but in theory markets like pickups and vans are likely to be hit by the upcoming downturn.Would be interesting to hear if anyone has direct experience? Why? So you can argue with them?0
