How many bottles

If I were arranging a toast at a birthday party for 30 people - how many standard sized bottles of prosecco would I typically need for those flute type glasses?
I have no idea how many glasses you would typically get out of a bottle - 3, maybe 4, glasses per?
By the way, I don't see the point, as people will have a drink in their hand anyway but I am under orders that this should happen!
Thanks

I think you will get 6 glasses out of a standard sized bottle.

Indeed. 6 precisely measured 125mm glasses, 5 generous glasses.
I err on the side of 5 as I pour on the side of 5Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I agree 5 glasses per bottle so 30 divided by 5 equals 6 bottles PLUS at least one more for spillages/more people turning up.0

4 glasses per bottle if you don't want to be seen as scrimping on the glasses. A standard bottle is 750ml, that's under 200ml per glass that's not a lot.0

But we are talking a champagne flute though so I would very much doubt you'll get that much in each glass.
Isn't a normal and Large wine measure 125 and 175ml?
As it is a toast I would imagine you can get away with half to 2/3rd filled glasses as like you say people will have there own drinks anywayThose who risk nothing, Do nothing, achieve nothing, become nothingMFW #63 £0/£5000 -
Most places now serve a standard wine glass as 175ml (although many people use much larger ones) so about 4 and a bit glasses per bottle. But for toasts, it is usual for a smaller measure than a normal glass to be given, and the flutes just get half filled
I would go for 6 bottles ... which will be plenty if you put the glasses on trays or a table beforehand and fill them yourself. Makes it much easier to control the amount and get them even, rather than pouring individually for each person.0 -
10 bottles will allow everyone a little more. One glass only might look a bit measly.0

Thanks for all the replies.
Im not in the slightest bit bothered about looking mean or scrimping on the prosecco - I may even use the fact as part of the toast - cue lots of laughter from everyone apart from my wife!0 -
If going funny why not disposable glasses as well.
