Timeshares

My mum has 2 x Timeshares she never uses, nor wants to use, she has had them up for sale for some time but they do not sell.
What options are there to get out of her paying annual fees for something she doesn't want or use, I have heard of companies offering a PPI type service, are these a way forward or should they be avoided?
Thanks in advance for any help

OP, I've just put "selling timeshare" into the search box here and get all these threads, some of which might get you started with information https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/search.php?searchid=1837576670 -
Golden rule is NEVER EVER PAY UPFRONT for any service that promises to sell/get rid of the timeshare. Any reputable sales agent will get paid from a % of the sale price, like estate agents, and any supposed lawyer should do it on a no win no fee arrangement if they have confidence of success.
Unfortunately there are plently of scammers out there who see anyone with a timeshare as a sucker who can be suckered again.0 -
Are they overseas or UK timeshares?0

I've heard several stories along the lines of - someone buys a timeshare and regrets it, they contact the timeshare company and ask to sell it back to them or even give it up, or contact some company that says they can sell it. They send someone round to discuss it, and they end up with a second timeshare, or an "upgraded" more expensive timeshare :eek:Buy one get one free perhaps.0 -
one is overseas one is UK but both are multi location ones0
