Can I switch today without penalty?
Hi,
I'm currently with Co-op energy for my gas/electric. My current tariff expires on 31st March 2019 (54 days from now including today).
My Co-op bill says I will be charged £30 exit fee per fuel if not within 49 days of my current tariff ending.
So my question is.... If I signed up with another supplier today will I be charged the exit fees as by the time the actual switch has taken place I should be within my 49 days or do they go by todays date?
I realise I could just wait until next week but I have time today and want to get it sorted.
Thanks in advance.

If you sign up somewhere today, the Co-op won't know!
They will only know if you decide to proceed with the switch after the cooling off period not to proceed ends0
