Gas Shower Recommendations

Options
We are in the process of pricing converting to gas, part of this will involve a shower upgrade from electric to thermostatic.

On the quotes we received we have been given options of:
  • Instinct bar shower with cool touch bar
  • Mira Element Thermostatic Shower

These aren't anything too exciting by the looks, but would still be a decent upgrade on our basic Mira electric shower.

Are the showers with the two heads (one large) and one standard head worth it?

Appreciate any advice

  • It depends on what hot water system you are getting & what kinda shower performance you are looking for, bar shower mixers are much of a muchness, a £50 one isn't any real difference to a £150 one yes it might have better quality components & come with a longer warentee but it will still operate the same, a large fixed head with give you a waterfall effect but how good depends on the flow rate you have, also remember more water more cost of the water & also heating it
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Water tank or combi boiler? If water tank would you want a shower pump?

I does depend on the pressure from the hot water, we have a thermal store so have mains pressure hot water and have victorian style simple mixer valves. It works fine, the one with the smaller head has a needle effect that hubby prefers and I prefer the larger shower head on the other one.
We have never had an issue except when the washing machine is filling and the pressure drops, not enough to either get out of the shower of get a pump though.

On boilers, will either be going with a

Worcester Greenstar 30i high efficiency combi boiler
    or
Baxi Platinum 28W combi boiler CW

Out of those two I'd go with Baxi

    Really? :O

I thought the Worcester Bosch were meant to be the best about?

Both boilers come with 10 year warranty so probably cant go wrong either way?
