Yes my DS did a piece of work for a possible new employer yesterday - he gave it me to get my red pen out... He was happy when he made the changes. He submitted it and they send him the 2nd piece of work out of 4 so that seems promising.

Thanks Becky. He had another interview  for a part time job today - and took himself off to a co-working space to have it on a free trial day. He reckons he could move out if he got the job. If they like him there is a second interview Wednesday.

£230 overpayment made this month, bringing us to an overpayment total of £3091 so far this year. Our aim was to overpay £3000 this year so pretty happy about that :)

After reaching our overpayment total for this year it got me thinking about my other new years resolutions. We've stuck to our £200 per month overpayment and our £100 per month savings towards the new car fund so that's great. Fingers crossed both cars will last a little bit longer as it's going to take us a bit more saving to be able to buy a car outright.

My aim to do some decluttering has failed miserably. I have started listing things on the Facebook selling group again and fingers crossed I've got one item being picked up today. I've just stuck things on at cheap prices to get rid of them. DH did another trip run this weekend but that was mainly to get rid of cardboard which we've accumulated from online shopping. I've got lots of clothes ready for recycling but the recycling centre is currently not accepting textiles so we've got to hang onto these. I have clothes to donate to the local charity shop too but they are only accepting donations on certain days and as I'm working on those days I can't take them down. I might just end up trying to give them away for free on Facebook or similar.

My aim to have more days out with the kids hasn't quite gone to plan due to covid restrictions. We have done lots of trips to local national trust places and we have ventured to a local farm and country park, but we only managed one trip to the beach. We've got to find some other local outdoors places to go to as I think the kids are bored of the local national trust places now. I'm also getting bored of trips to the local playpark, although I'm sure it will be another couple of years until the kids are bored of that :) I'm actually quite missing soft play. I'd take the kids but DH isn't keen in the current climate...

Well done on reaching your OP target for the year. That is fab. I would be wary of soft play too. Glad my kids aren't your age - although young adults bring their own challenges.

I've been feeling a bit down about not achieving much at home so I thought I would focus on the positive things which I've achieved. So yesterday I:
Sold two items on Facebook -£5 made
Had leftovers for both lunch and dinner so no food wasted
    Did one load of washing
Did a bit of tidying ready for the cleaner coming today

I'm at work today and then after putting the kids to bed I'm having a zoom call with friends so doubtful much will be done around the house today but there's always tomorrow :)

Our new boiler is being fitted tomorrow so we're having a mad dash trying to move things from the areas the engineer will need access to. Last night I tackled the under the stairs cupboard as that's where our stopcock is for some reason. I seem to have hidden hundreds of carrier bags under there so not sure what I'm going to do with them. I have sorted out another car load of stuff for the tip from the stuff we had stored under there so it was a successful evening. I've also requested a £7 payout from Quidc0 so when that hits my bank account that will be another small overpayment :) I also resisted the urge to go to costA at work and took lunch in so yesterday was a no spend day too :)

Exciting about the boiler. Ours made a huge difference when we replaced it. Great news about the cashback - it all helps.
