As others have said, this has been scientifically tested. Perhaps you have special super multitasking skills, who knows. The rules should be made for the worst, not the best.
Do you have a link to the studies when it was "scientifically tested"
The last time i looked at studies they showed the distraction of using a hands free kit was no more distracting than a passenger speaking to the driver and that's why hands free kits were not made illegal also. All your base are belong to us.0 -

In fact it was in a post you quoted:building_with_lego wrote: »Or just leave your phone in the boot while you're driving?
Hands-free or hand-held, you are negatively impacting on your driving performance. Link.
"The impact of using a hands free phone on driving performance was not found to differ from the impact of using a hand held phones".
This is a small study, yes, but I've read of others which have found that your reaction times are actually faster if you are up to twice the drink-drive limit for alcohol. How urgent is that call, exactly? And why is, "Sorry I didn't answer; I was driving" unacceptable to some people?

And this...There was a lot of research done by the Transport Research Laboratory in Berkshire when the mobile phone legislation was being considered (I was involved with them on another project at that time) that showed quite clearly that holding or hands free made very little difference (if any)...it was having the conversation with someone not in the vehicle that took the driver's attention.
However, the government of the day decided that completely banning all phone use by drivers was not thought politically acceptable at the time, so the law was drafted to allow the hands free option.0 -

And this...
I've read through it and i can see it certainly shows that using a hands free kit is more risky than not speaking on the phone, however i can't find any mention (maybe i overlooked hence asking) of where it compares a hands free kit to a passenger sitting in the car beside them and speaking to them. All your base are belong to us.0
