HI GUYS,
Advice needed please, I have just found out that E.On have registered a DEFAULT on my credit file without my knowledge. I have now found out a year later that I am applying for a mortgage.
I want to know if I can get this DEFAULT removed on the fact that it wasnt 'served'...I was liasing with E.on via e-mail in regards to a final bill and apparently during this time even though I had told them I had moved address in order to be forwarded the final bill, they had sent a DEFAULT notice to the 'old site address' does this still mean it can be enforced?
I had no notification whatsoever.
This bill has since been paid and reflects as settled, but is really damaging to my current mortgage application PLEASE HELP?!

Yes it's still enforceable - even if they sent it to your current address, the account would still be in default so would still apply0

It is generally better to pay a bill and dispute it afterwards. A default doesn’t need to be “served”.0
