cheque query

Hi

I've received a few cheque for my late father's estate payable to "dad's name deceased admin my name'
Can I pay these into a bank account that is just in my name or am i going to have to send these cheques back and get them reissued?
I just have a bank account in my name only for keeping all estate monies separate

Ask the bank where you hold that account - I had no problem with similar cheques when dealing with my father's estate, and paid them into an account in my name.

You can try though I had trouble with a cheque made out (IIRC) to "The Estate Of..". I am not saying you should do this but you may find that cheques paid in via a deposit machine are not checked.

I had a cheque made out to "the executor(s) of xxxxxx"; my name wasn't on it at all, and I was able to pay it into my TSB current account by showing them the grant of probate.
