Cracked oil sump
Comments
-
Its hard to patch if it is leaking as the oil will stop anything sticking to it. Think you would need to drain the oil completely, Wire brush/sand until shiny, score the area, then use solvent to thoroughly clean the area, then it could be patched with fibreglass and resin.
Might be less hassle to just replace it.0 -
A quick Google suggests a new sump is about £30.
Not worth trying to fix really although if you accept it's a bit iffy you could try something like this https://www.screwfix.com/p/araldite-2-part-epoxy-adhesive-tubes-opaque-2-x-15ml/2457h
Just make sure the area is as clean as possible before trying.0 -
the stuff to use "if" you can get it clean enough is JB weld , in tubes (like arraldite) this has been the savior of many motorcyclists over the years with leaking petrol tanks
cleanliness will be your problem0
