Best supplier after Octopus?

Hi All,
My 12 month fixed plan with Octopus is coming to end in just over a month and want to switch but there doesn't seem to be any good options.
I have really enjoyed being with Octopus and the customer service has been great (which is rare in this industry). However their new fix plan is estimated to be £100 more per year than my current plan.
The closest option I can find is Bulb based on what I've read about their customer service, but I don't like the idea of a variable plan. Plus their tariffs seem to be higher than Octopus.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
FG

Look on the websites own energy comparison. You get to see feedback from other forum members as well.

Hi. I am in a similar position with Octopus although I have not had my renewal yet, but I done a quote on their system and their cheapest will be quite a bit more. For me (ScottishPower region) Utility Point was cheaper but they seem to have strange rules for the Direct Debit - it's not spead evenly over the year. Not sure what to do either. I feel with Octopus I have had no problems and given all the recent problems elsewhere I might just stay with them for now.0

Consult an ofgem accrdited comparsion site to find the best deal(s) for you.

Don't forget to consider buying your gas & electric from separate suppliers which can often work out cheaper overall.
At present there is often an electric only supplier coming up cheapest for electric and a gas only supplier coming up cheapest for gas.
Both are fixed tariffs.
(But you'll need to compare the total cost of these against the best dual fuel fixed tariff offered)0 -
Thanks for the advice, really appreciate it.
I will look at the comparison sites and see the cheapest dual fuel and single fuel deals.

I actually did a comparison yesterday, real time energy figures input on MSE energy club and moneysupermarket site, Tonik came out tops for price..
They still couldn't beat the company I'm with currently, Igloo energy, just one tariff their Pioneer variable tariff, Octopus came out somewhere down in 3rd 4th place on price. I've read their CS is very good, so are Igloo's although I've never had cause to complain or otherwise, everything running smoothly since I joined them last June.0 -
Thanks Brewer20. Never heard of Tonik or Igloo, will check them out.
Are Octopus and Bulb the only one's that offer the £50 referrals?0
