    Single premium. Good complaint reason. Doesn't rely on memory.

    Does still rely on documentary evidence that there was any PPI and, indeed, whether the insurance was front loaded.

    @moneyineptitude

    Read my posts. I have clearly said from the beginning that I knew that the PPI was applied, but that it was presented as a requirement of the loan. Also, banks dId almost always apply it, although admittedly I’m referring to my area. Everyone I knew or worked with had insurance applied to loans. Everyone. We were young lads and compared loans, costs and cars.

    I have been clear and would appreciate it if you could stop misrepresenting what I’ve said.

    So regardless of what the self proclaimed ‘experts’ on here are claiming, I did pay insurance, I did know about it, but the bank did portray it as a requirement of the loan rather than optional. But, as I have no paperwork etc, I fully accept that nothing further can be done, so this thread can now be closed, and we can all move on to more interesting things.

    Which is a very broad generalisation for which you can present no evidence

    How narrow is this "area" you refer to? Your city, district, street, your household? ;)
    How can you, seriously, generalise about this?

    So you took a straw poll of everyone you knew decades ago over whether they had insurance?

    You have not been clear at all in my opinion I'm afraid.
    You started off stating one thing and then stated another.
    I've already detailed how and why I found that to be confusing

    I've yet to see any regular posting here who has ever "proclaimed" themselves an expert.

    Note that this is a discussion forum, anyone can post and anyone is free to post their own opinion as long as it stays within forum guidelines.

    No one here has stated that you definitely did or did not have PPI, note that it is not us that you have to convince! :)
    I doubt anyone here truly cares one way or the other!

    The advice you have received repeatedly has simply been that, without any documentary evidence of your assertions, any complaint you might make is going nowhere.

    You don't get to decide when the thread is closed, by the way..

    But on that note, I'm out too. :)
