damp proofing on bricks... overally paranoid or is there something wrong?

a long and close up pic... my worries are the dpc is 'wearing away' cant find anything on internet about this and if this is normal? what can we do? is there something we can buy to refill the hole/dent? or is it fine and best left alone?

    Looks ok to me. All the matters is that the membrane between the bricks is in good condition, and you can't see that part. All you can see is the outer edge of the sheet.

    Indeed there is, it's known as mortar, a mixture of sand and cement. Either mix your own or buy a small bag of ready mixed. You'll also need a pointing trowel.

    Depending on the condition of the rest of your mortar/brickwork, it might be worth getting a builder to repoint. Whilst you can DIY, a professional will have dyes to match your existing mortar. We had our 50 year old house repointed and you can't tell the old from the new mortar.

    Thanks guys wanted to check how normal this is purely because its the brick work near where some potential damp related powder formed on inside walls.. potential not 100% certain (tiny 10x8cm patch)..
    I wasnt sure if just mortaring over was safe / ok since it is the damp course membrane section..

    Damp is often caused by mortar droppings being higher than the DPC in the cavity.
