Speeding ticket question

Hi all,
I was stopped by the police for a speeding offence on the motorway on the 27th of December 2018, more than a month ago now.
I still haven't received the fine via mail which I was told would happen. I phoned the number at the back of the ticket I was issued by the police to check if it might have been lost in the post. They had no trace of my fine on their system nor my name or car registration. I was asked to call back in 2 weeks to check if anything would show up.
It's my first driving offense so i'm not aware of the length of time I should be expecting or if it is normal for this to take so long.
Would anyone know if this is normal and how long it could take in all?
Jean

This is a PARKING ticket forum. For best advice head over to Pepipoo but do not register with a Hotmail address.0

Did they give you any paperwork at the time? Check it carefully if they did.
If they didn't they have 6 months to start proceedings against you.0 -
If your were given a FPN by the officer, what else are you expecting?
FOr a start, the OP hasnt said they have surrendered their licence, meaning there cannto be a FPN
Likely its a copy of the Traffic Offence Report they have
The back office may have NFA
OP - tell us the speed alleged AND the limit
IF over a threshold there will be no CoFP or speed awareness course, it will go straight to court. THat can take 6 months.0 -
I didn't get an FPN sorry, I was given a traffic offence report, and told I would receive an "offer" fine + point or speed course.0

Hi, Yes it is a traffic offence report I was doing 93mph instead of 70 on the motorway0 -
If the report says 93 then your speedo was probably around the 100 mph mark. I suspect this may go to court.0
