We3 all knew that Experian's credit score is/was a ficticious number - does this also mean that National Numeracy's score is also ficticious and can also be safely ignored?

Is that the correlation between the two?
  • Ah. Experian wanting to sell you it’s affillated credit cards depending on your mental arithmetic.

    There’s money in it !

Do people actually get paid to do this 'research'?

Well Experian paid for it. And it certainly worked - it's got MSE claiming it's a 'news item.'

I'd rather call it 'advertising' than 'research' however; as others have pointed out, the actual outcome is akin to reporting on

    - the azureness of the sky,
    - the moistness of dihydrogen monoxide,
    - the religious affiliation of the Successor of the Prince of the Apostles, or
    - the defecation habits of ursine mammals.
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries
