How long does post to Germany take?

Has anyone sent any parcels to Germany recently and if so how long did they take? I sent an ebay item on 17th January and they haven't received it yet. I don't think i've sent to Germany before so not sure if this is likey to be lost? Shall I ask them to wait longer?

Assuming this is standard airmail via RM I think ebay estimate about 4-5 days, but actually it can be nearer 10 days. If something was sent on the 17th January it is looking a little worrying, I think though that Europe has had some very poor weather but I don't know if Germany was affected?

The weather never seems to bother the Germans. I'd start checking wherever you can as 18 days is far to long.
  • It was just a £5 item so no tracking and nothing to chase up. I will gently suggest they give it a few more days then refund.

I sent a small item (not a parcel) to Germany on 25 Jan and got positive feedback 5 days later.
  • Well I don't know where it's been as it has now arrived according to the buyer, so 21 days. I didn't send the buyer POP just asked them to wait a few more days so don't think they were trying it on as I said I would refund in a few days.

Big place, Germany (and it has some mountains where the snow can fall).
I happened to drive from Calais to Bremen on the 6th and not a scrap of snow on the roads.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....
  • I sent a book via GSP. According to ebay updates it took 5 days to arrive at the GSP and 1 more day to arrive in Germany.
My tracking shows it took only 2 days to arrive at GSP
Love living in a village in the country side
