• We are just awaiting delivery of our irobot scooba floor mop from the US. But saw that costco had the roomba 520 on special sale the other day. The gadget show on channel five did a review of both the roomba and the scooba a few weeks back. Personally the review on the roomba 560 wasnt great but the scooba was fantastic.

another review on the 560 only slight upgrades on the 530

also the following site which seems to be down today has great forums with lots of useful info when its back up and one I have been getting lots of info from. (US Based though but includes some forum posts from UK users)

re costco membership:

I thiink its about £35 for first member then you can pay about £12 for extra cards for other family members. This is what we do then split the overall cost between us. Unfortunately cant get the latest price from the costco website.

ps trade membership is cheaper if you run a small business plus you get trade only hours where general public arent allowed.

pps. if you check roombareview when its back there is alot of information on there about the roomba and how it gets jammed a lot if you have alot of animal hair. Thats one small reason I havent got the current generation roomba yet.

what is makro & where are they? is there a website?
• Thanks Craig,

wow now at that price I am interested. They also have the roomba 2 for only £150 + VAT and lucky for me I just happen to be going to visit someone who gets 10% staff discount so even bigger savings. I just might have to buy the roomba 2 at that price or put up with the not so good roomba 560 for only £80 + VAT after the discount.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.
• Actually the roomba 2 on the MAKRO flyer actually looks like the older model?? So the 560 may be actually the much better buy if it really is only £90 in store. The 570 and 580 are the top of the range models on the irobot site.

found the makro site and it is only for people who can buy for business, what a pain......you cant just join, they are good prices.
• Just ask your friends or work colleagues there will be a few that have Makro cards if you live near a store.

I went to buy one from Makro yesterday and they had a sign on display saying there had been a pricing error with these. The Roomba 560 should be 149.99 and the Roomba 2 should be 89.99. Needless to say the shelves were bare with neither in stock so I came away empty handed.
