Bitten by a dog compensation claim

Last May I was bitten by a dog at my local park. Had to have hospital treatment. Tried to do a no win no fee claim for compensation via a solicitor found online. The owner of the dog ignored letters asking if they have dog insurance with public liability cover. They also ignored a court order asking for this information. The solicitor now says they are not "viable" to make a claim against and the case will have to be dropped. Seems incredible they will get away Scott free just by ignoring all letters. Police were involved in beginning but did not press charges because my son was the only witness. CPS has a 12 month backlog and will not take on case with a chance of failure. Really fed up over the whole thing and even landlord will not help even though she set the dog on me a second time as walked past her house.

If you have a phone and there is a next time take a video.
However, if she has nothing then you won't have success with compensation.
At best she could be given a control order to keep the dog under control, on a lead , muzzled etc.0 -
Why would the landlord help?
Why are you walking past her house?0 -
Why are you walking past her house?
I'd hazard a guess that as they're local, it's between them and the park/shop/school/whatever.
I'd make a habit of recording video (subtly - no need to inflame things further) as I walked past on my daily business. It does sound like the lack of evidence is what is stopping things being addressed - so fix that.0 -
