Vehicle control services taking me to court

I have just received the documents over Vehicle Control Services taking me to court due to no permit being displayed on my car windscreen in November 2017.
I am a resident of the parking scheme and have a witness statement saying that I placed my permit on my windscreen on the night before. The parking invoice was placed on my windscreen the day after due to my permit falling off my windscreen from the inside. I have had no correspondence with Vehicle Control Services during this time as I have done nothing wrong. They are now taking me to court at the end of February 2019 and claiming for £185! Should I get legal representation over this claim being made against me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Follow the guide to court written by bargepole that you will find in post 2 of the NEWBIES. This is a step by step guide from LBC to the court date itself.
This plus the advice from the regulars will be better than any paid for service you will find anywhere.
The most important thing to do is to look at your lease/AST to see what it says, and just as importantly, what it doesn't say about parking/parking permits.
It is possible that person or persons unknown bounced up and down on your car to deliberately dislodge your permit. Hmmmm. Who would benefit from such a jolly jape?I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Read this.

What does your lease/AST say about parking, does it mention permits about the need to display a permit? Does it mention payin a charge if not displaying one? If not the PPC may be interfering with your leasehold right to quiet enjoyment, possibly an offence under the Landlord and Tenant Act. criminal offence.
There are hundreds of "own space" threads here, read a few and you will see how o deal with them. PPCs have no place in residential car parks.
The whole industry is a scam, relying on threats of court, and the public's ignorance of the Law, A bill is currently before parliament which will regulate the scammers, many of whom are ex-clampers.
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.
Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Second Reading in the Lords this month, and, with a fair wind, will l become Law later this year..
All five readings are available to watch on the internet, (some 7-8 hours), and published in Hansard. MPs have an extremely low opinion of the industry. Many are complaining that they are becoming overwhelmed by complaints from members of the public. Add to their burden, complain in the most robust terms about the scammers.

The sticky thread for NEWBIES was just underneath where you clicked on the
button. It asks you to read it before starting a thread.
It looks like this.
