Parking & Property Management ticket

May I have some advice please. I am a health care professional working in the community and as such have to park in privately managed car parks a great deal in order to visit patients. Myself and a colleague were attending to an urgent situation and parked in one of these car parks in order to carry heavy equipment to a property. We both received a ticket. Naively, I have followed advice and ignored the ticket and subsequent letters and have now received a letter of claim from BW Legal. I have followed the advice on the Newbies thread but would like to construct a letter of defence to the Parking Management company. Firstly is there any point(or is it too late) in trying to defend this ticket on the basis of the reasons that we were there or is a court appearance inevitable? Any advice would be gratefully received

many thanks
