Hi all,
I've recieved a quote for the following:
-New cupboard doors (for 5 units)
-One new drawer front
-Supply and fit drawer under oven.
-Change all trims, panels, plinths
-Supply and fit new base unit under sink
-Box in boiler
Materials = £1000
Labour = £780
Materials are from Howdens. Carpenter in London.
I think this is quite high, what do you think? Would it be resonable to ask if the materials could be sourced somewhere cheaper? Thanks.

Has the Kitchen fitter given an estimate as to how long it'll take and for how many workers?
The first 2 things should take maybe an hour tops
Fitting the drawer could be fiddly but again not too long
All the trims panels and plinths could be fiddly and time consuming but an experienced fitter should really not take too long over this.
The base unit under the sink I assume means the work surface and sink has to come out? If so thats likely to be a bulk of the labour cost.
And the boiler boxing in again can be fiddly.
Seems okay to me. Have you had other quotes? How much?Those who risk nothing, Do nothing, achieve nothing, become nothingMFW #63 £0/£5000 -
Looks like he is showing you the Howdens customer copy of the invoice. The cost for the materials is far to high.
He gets a different invoice that gives the discount he gets as a trade customer. probably around 60%.
Labour doesn't look to bad but then its probably only a couple of days work.0
