Gas Meter Box Replacement!

Options
Wanted to get leaking gas meter box replaced which involves taking out meter and putting back in and bricking up inner wall.
It is one of the old boxes which has a door on both inside and out, they don't do them like this anymore according to Cadent.
Can't find any major Plumbing Companies to quote me or even have a look but the neighbours had theirs done by the local council as they are council tenants but as a private home i'm struggling to find anyone.
Turned down so far by Homeserve, British Gas, Local Heroes, Local Housing Association, 3 local Gas Safe engineers.
Enjoy everyday like it's your last!

  • You will need to get a couple of companies involved, SGN or NGN if you are in England to disconnect the existing supply, a local GSR guy to disconnect your side, remove the box & install the new one then get both back to re-instate the two sides, if you get a bricky to fit the new box he can re-build the inside at the same time, or if the box is to go further up the wall then get that done first then you could have the gas done the same day rather than two visits
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
