Bulb Energy - Not so clearcut on switching

So I made the leap from my current supplier to Bulb energy.
The prices on the tariff were great, heard nothing but good things about them too.

However I have ran into a problem. The problem affects users currently on single rate tariffs over their existing Economy 7 meters.
I am one of them as my main usage is during the daytime, not midnight-7am. This wasn't an issue as my then supplier British Gas, changed me onto a single rate standard tariff and when I moved to Robin Hood Energy, this single rate tariff was in effect.

Only now that Bulb are taking over, they have forcibly put me on their Economy 7 tariff with no possibility to be put on a single-rate tariff. Why? It costs them too much apparently.
There was absolutely no information on their website to indicate that I would be forced onto their Economy 7 tariff, only when I called them and spoke with James that he said that there is now no way for Bulb to have me on their single-rate.

Those customers in my same situation that joined Bulb previously, have achieved a single rate but not anymore. I think this is VERY unfair, Best I can do is go to People's Energy who as a matter of fact, DO offer customers with economy 7 meters their single rate tariff. Looks like I'll be going there.

I may speak to Ofgem to highlight the issue, maybe the ASA given the advertising is not clear and may mislead other customers who want a single rate over their Economy 7 meters.
Managing well since 2012

Only a very few suppliers will allow you to take a single rate tariff when you are on an E7 meter.

Consult a comparison site to find the best deal for you on E7
Compare that to what a single rate would cost you.
We've been on E7 for years as it's generally cheaper or on par with any single rate, and we use gas for space heating & hot water.
(means we only use about 25% low rate)

But if you are determined to have a single rate from a supplier of your choice, you should get your meter changed.
A charge may apply ... but some suggest opting for a smart meter may eliminate the charge.
