Eon not on comparison sites

I am already with eon and Looking at comparisons today for another eon deal but they don't seem to be on there at all. (Electricity only tariff)

I'm in the process of applying for eon fit tariff for my solar (which is taking ages) and I think you need to be a customer for your application be to accepted so that's why I want to stick with eon.

I know EDF have some great deals at the moment but just found it strange eon are not on the comparison sites at the moment.

I also find that some of the comparison sites are very misleading

My current eon go online v6, was a great deal from last year on economy 7 I was only paying night rates of about 6p. No deals this year come anywhere near to that but they will still say switch and save £230! But I do the maths they clearly are kore expensive. I also do not like the fact they hide the units rates and you sometimes have to click through a few different pages before they are displayed. I will have to save a couple of example of the misleading result next time I do a comparison.

Eon are certainly showing up in comparisons for me and are one of the cheapest dual fuels available. Some of the tariffs are not available to current customers though so may not show to you.

Ensure you are looking at the whole of market
i.e. including those suppliers/tariffs that the comparison site cannot switch you to.

Most suppliers don't pay comparison sites when you are already that supplier's customer .

    I know what you mean.

About 30 years ago, the low rate on E7 was typically about 1p/kWh
How can these comparison sites claim to save us £100s compared to that, when you see the prices of electricity today
As you say, you can't even find a deal at 6p/kWh today, and even if you could, that would be a 600% increase over what was charged back in the 80s/90s

There is no requirement to be an Eon customer in order to register your FITs with them. All suppliers over a certain size must provide this service. I haven't been an EDF customer for 10 years, but my FITs account is still with them. Since all suppliers pay the same rate, there is no point in moving it.
OP, the reason you are not finding them on comp sites is because you haven't ticked the whole of market option in the filters.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • I have ticked whole of market

There is no economy 7 electricity only eon tariff shown on any of the main comparison sites

In my area , South Yorks, the rates are 17p/day 8p/night 22p a day standing charge

Hello snesbits and, as others have said, our tariffs are available on most Price Comparison sites including MSE's Cheap Energy Club.

They're also on our website. As molerat says, certain tariffs like Fix Online v8 are only available to new customers through broker channels and existing customers through our website. There are no exit fees for moving from one E.ON tariff to another.

Sorry it's taking a long time to sort out your FIT application. There's a backlog in that area at the moment. As an existing customer, we'll be happy to sort this for you.

Glad you've been happy with Go Online v6 snesbits.

This changed a while ago macman. We now only accept FIT applications from existing E.ON electricity customers unless the current supplier isn't a mandatory FIT Licensee or if the customer isn't connected to the National Grid.

    Hope this explains.
