There was something in my local paper about Aldi stopping selling newspaers and magazines.... Can anyone confirm this ?
Best headline ever on local paper??

It's true. I was in a branch of Aldi this afternoon. Newspapers and magazines were gone and there was a small poster announcing their discontinuation.

Popcorn in place of the magazine rack in my Aldi, today.

    Price reduction at Lidl:

    - Peanut Butter 85p (was 99p) edit: this may have been a one branch clearance.

    New products at Aldi:

    - Various Quorn chilled products (Deli slices, Savoury Eggs, Cocktail Sausages). Not cheap, though, £1.85-£1.99

Never saw anyone buy a magazine or paper anyway. Waste of space.

    Cereal/Muesli Bars.

Aldi's Benefit Cereal Bars are pretty tasty. By comparison Lidl's Crownfield Muesli Cereal Bars (Apple) are not nice at all. In fact I'm thinking of throwing the rest in the bin. I think the Hazelnut version are supposed to be ok, but I don't think I'll bother trying them.

Me too (although it was only a TV mag so once a week).
Cans of pop in the space now in our store.

Ours has been replaced by a cage full of pale ale, and bizarrely a pink gin liqueur with neither electronic tag nor shelftalker. I made a price enquiry as it was full strength and it turned out to be something like £13, at which point I suggested that its proximity to the entrance would lead it to walk straight out of the door. Which genius planogrammed that?

Today, dishevelled display of crisps. :(

This is now the price in Aldi, too.

    - Also, 2 Litre Double Concentrate Squash is back at Aldi - same price and packaging as before (85p). :T

    - 4 pack Greek Style yogurt now has a new pack style (4x separate round pots) and is now "No Added Sugar/0% Fat" - in both Lidl & Aldi.
