Hi,
I've got an issue with 1 plug socket and wondered if anyone has any ideas what could be wrong.
I noticed that the appliance that was plugged in wasnt working. I checked the fuse box all fine. So I tried an extension lead with a light indicator on to see if this works in there socket.
When the plug was all the way in the socket it didnt turn on but as i was pulling the plug out half way the indicator light turns on so theres power to the socket.
Ive taken the socket out to see if there was any loose wires but all looks fine.
Has anyone had the same issue or any suggestions of what the issue could be?
Thanks

From what you write it seems like there is an issue with the internals of the socket, the cavities where the pins/prongs of the plug fit are formed of brass/copper and could have become deformed by constant use or heat due to loose connection. If you feel competent and/or are experienced in the area, just buy a new socket and change it. TURN POWER OFF first.0

Faulty/ bent contacts in the socket. I'd replace it.0
