To Keep Motivated Diary

Won another £23 on the bingo last night so when that comes in I will pay it off the BC.
I have posted on some diaries again this morning instead of just lurking I am starting to feel I have a right to be involved more than I did in the beginning
I am like this in 'real' life too I am not shy at all but it just takes me a while to be myself then people say oh I thought you were shy but I am not I am just reserved slightly in the beginning? Does that make sense? Anyway will try to be more involved with the boards.
Not done much this morning as I've been on here
so I'm off for a shower now so I can start my day properly see you later. 0 -
Yep, it makes sense! Hiya you! I'm shutting down the computer, and phoning my mum for our catchup call, so I'll be off now as well. See you later.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Right I'm just putting my SOA on again as there are some things to amend and also because although I am better I am still slacking and not fully utilising our surplus money, I could have done so much better so I'm hoping this will remotivate me

Surplus £ 1220.70 (for petrol, clothes and other expenses - need to keep a spending diary so I can work out exactly what I spend on these things)
** = things that have been amended to reflect new figures
Debts
Tesco CC £243.58 - Edit Now paid in full
Virgin CC £135.00 - Edit Now paid in full
Barclaycard £811.10 - 0.561% - Edit Now [STRIKE]£337.84[/STRIKE]Now paid in full
Halifax CC £2000 0% interest - Edit Now £1689
Parents £200
Total Debt - £3389.68 Edit Now [STRIKE]£2137.84[/STRIKE] £1889
Mortgage £97,000 Interest Only
Mortgage £10,000 Repayment
Total Mortgage £107,000 - We do have an endowment of £29,000 towards this figure but obviously it is not on target and we were too late to complain.
So obviously I can do better and I do intend to. In my defence there have been a couple of unexpected bills and I have paid those in full so I am pleased with that. Quidco are due to pay £91 at the end of March so that will go straight off the Barclaycard.
I am going to have a think, now that I have amended everything, what I can do to improve the debt figures.

Hi KM!
"£25.52 Water" please tell me this is the water bill for your house, not what you spend on bottled water? :rotfl: Sorry, I know it sounds mad, but its what I first thought when I saw it.
The school meals? Can the kids take packed? How much of a saving would that be?
Um, you have a gym in there. You don't need it, how much do you want it?
You have HSA in there too: is it really necessary?
Actually, I've just seen how small your debt is, how near you are to being debt free.... you're really close!
A surplus of £1200 is huge!!! But as you point it, its not really a surplus, so you *will* be amending this soa in the next week, won't you? :money: :money: :money: You know you can do it!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks Karma, lol at the water no definately not bottled water..
Re the school meals I could probably save money by sending packed lunches but would rather keep to the school lunches as DD eats these and only picks at packed lunces.
Re HSA I do need it at the moment as I am having some large dentist bills and claiming them back from HSA so its been a real winner for me this year.
I could save on the childcare by getting the childcare vouchers from work, I don't actually pay much per month for childcare but every little helps so I will look into how the vouchers work and how much I might save by using them.
I intend to have the Barclaycard paid in full by the end of the month and thats a definate no more beating around the bush with that one. Then I intend to pay my parents the £200 back next.
Had a NSD yesterday, then today spent nothing all day then went and blew it by nipping in the shop for a few munchies and spent £3.11  on munchies!!! Really need to keep my eye on that type of thing.
KM0 -
Sounds good - apart from the munchies - but I know what thats like. I bought some salt and vinegar BOGOF crisps to take to France, and I've eaten them. Complete waste of £1.99.... ah well.
And, um, you don't pay much for childcare? I know that people can pay hundreds, but think how many surveys or mystery shops you'd have to do to find £47 a month! If you can possibly use the vouchers, do, please do!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Today I have been paid so I have paid the Barclay card off (£337.84). I have edited my SOA in post 44 to show the new figures.
If I didn't pay it off in full today I would beat around the bush and the money would end up being used elsewhere. So that now leaves only debt that is 0%. I already overpay the other CC by paying £100 per mth but I do want to get it down quicker. I'm due £91 from quidco at the end of march so that will be an extra payment to that card. I STILL need to do some ebaying, I'm so rubbish!0 -
Just putting a list on here of the things I want to get done this week while I am off work.
List 10 items on ebay.
Return a top to M & S that I don't like but I took the label off so I hope they will still refund it? £12
Return some trousers to Next. £35
Return an item to Boots that I bought in error.
Do at least 20 minutes exercise each day (of any form).
Buy card and present for friend.
Clean a room a day!!
I am hoping this will focus me and stop me keep forgetting what I need to do!
Also I've decided that while the CC debt £1600 is on 0% I will keep paying it at a rate of £100 and any other 'spare' money or extra money I make will be put in savings for the new bathroom I want.
So the bathroom fund had £80 to start and also the £91 Quidco money will be added to that as its now showing as paid in my account.0
