Limestone fireplace surround

I am after a limestone fireplace surround. I just want to know if what I am thinking I want can actually be done!! I don't have a chimney - just a flat wall. I'd like to have a fireplace surround, but not with an electric fire, just a space to put a basket or something. It would look like an open fireplace, but (of course!) would not actually be a working fire - just for show. Can this be done on a flat wall without it looking stupid? (ie without a protruding chimney breast wall)?
This is the sort of effect I want

But my wall inside the back of the fireplace would not go back any further....sorry - I'm not very good at explaining things. Do you know what I mean?

  • The depth of the mantle can be increased to help create the illusion, of what your looking for, a lot will depend on the size of the room, be careful the room can take the extra DEPTH. A trip round suppliers showrooms is the best bet.
