Hello everyone.
So I purchased a set of in ear headphones from Samsung directly from their website last March, last week one of the ear buds stopped working.
I contacted Samsung and they mentioned that all headphones only come with a 6 month warranty and not a 12 month warranty.
Is there anything I can do to fight this? As I was under the assumption everything has at least a 12 month warranty when it is purchased here in the UK.
Thank you

There is no legal requirement for anything sold in the UK to have any warranty so Sony only giving 6 months is perfectly legal.
However, you still have consumer rights under the Consumer rights act and these state that goods sold must be durable and last a reasonable time (taking into account the price paid and the type of item).
After more than 6 months from purchase, the onus is on you to prove that any fault is due to a manufacturing defect and didn't occur through misuse.
Contact them again and state that you are not claiming on their warranty but under your statutory legal rights.
They may agree to repair or replace them but may ask you for a report stating exactly what the problem was caused by.
How much did the earphones cost?0 -
TBH, cheap-ish earphones dying after 11 months is pretty standard, so I doubt you'll get anywhere.0

Which precise entity of Samsung did you buy from? (Which website?)0
