Independent verification?

Good morning all. Newbie so please be gentle.

I used to be with EDF but changed to Octopus. EDF gave me a ridiculous end reading but Octopus recommended that I didn’t query it. However when I gave them my meter readings they decided to query it for me as it was so far out from correct.
Spool forward about 6 months. Octopus tell me that the ‘industry’ have agreed my correct readings, EDF tell me they have agreed their original readings. Somewhere someone is wrong, and there’s about £350 of discrepancy - paid to EDF and also paid to Octopus.
Is there any way I can tell what the verified data on my meter is? It’s my data so surely under GDPR i am entitled to see it but how do I go about it?
Any help gratefully received as I’m stumped now.
Thanks.

The start meter reading used by your new supplier must be the same as the closing meter read used by the old supplier.

The new supplier is responsible for the switch process.

Raise a complaint with the new supplier, if you have not already done so.
If you have done so, follow the complaint process.
