I'd imagine trying to see the roads on a very small screen is not going to make things better
Especially in bright sunlight when wearing photo-chromatic prescription glasses.

I do. When you are in a part of the country you don't know, sat navy is fine if you have a destination, but for planning a route for sightseeing not so good, especially if you vary the route depending on what you fancy seeing. An atlas gives you a better overview for things like that and, as an earlier poster said, it's always good to have a backup. I'm an enthusiast of modern technology but that shouldn't mean blindly rejecting the traditional methods too.Well at least you aren't printing loads of maps everywhere you go. But do you actually use the road atlas in your car?
It's just so much easier and more convenient to simply look at something like google maps on a smartphone that if i had one in my car i would have never used it.Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums. Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.0
