Morning all
Nels enjoy Brighton Im don't actually live there but its the first 'big' town closest to us we go there for xmas shopping etc we often stay overnight and include dinner and drinks, I am actually just outside of Arundel on the south coast in a tiny village with nothing much going on so Brighton really is the bright lights for meenjoy xx
Taken today off as well im still not well at all, this really is a nasty cold I made a roast lamb dinner yesterday which looked delicious but I couldn't taste anything at allits a pity as we have the same tonight.
Wont be doing much today again OH has been rained off so is here getting under my feet, will just have a quick tidy round the retreat back to the sofa.
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
Slept 12 hrs last night with only 2 pit stops..... must have needed that.
Dad decided against coming over as he is still coughing but he found some steak in his freezer so he had that with tinned pots and peas. Not an ideal meal but at least it was a hot dinner, instead of his prawns and lettuce.
We have had heavy rain, fog and now intermittent sun/ grey clouds. We were going to go to town but I woke late. We will go tomorrow though as Mr Fix It is going stir crazy, me I'm not bothered if I go out or not.
I have filled the DW, but I will wait for today's dishes to fill it before it goes on. Nothing else is actually planned for today, I will just potter about.
I would like to sort out some cupboards in the bedroom, but I know they contain 2 boxes stuffed with photos ( one belonged to my parents ) and I will probably get distracted by looking through them and reminiscing. Perhaps I can weed out some that are just landscapes . I have already written on the back of most the family ones as to who the people are, so that when they get passed to DD she will know too, even if she doesn't remember them. My great grand father and mother are in there and even I don't remember them.
As there are a few things that need eating up in the fridge, tea tonight will be a concoction
BeenTDT I hope the news isn't as bad as you fear.
Camelot could you put in a complaint and perhaps get your money back ? Sounds like the person in charge is not doing their job properly, they should be giving you encouragement, no matter what. Sorry to read about the passing of the DGC grandfather. People are such strange and complicated creatures.
Anyway enough waffling, my coffee's gone cold so I shall love you and leave you. I'll make another coffee first, then go yonder into another cupboard in search of treasures, think Indy Andy Jones ( DGS take on his name when he was small) .......... yeah right, more like additional rubbish :rotfl:.
Thinking of the poorly people and anyone struggling with daily life at present.
Take care all

Morning! Just taken my first five tablets of the day, usually I can't take tablets with liquid, they get stuck in my throat, so I have them with food but there are so many at the moment it's all in one go with tea, just like a mouth full of food...
Have phoned and am awaiting reply. It may not have been the most coherent message ever, I hadn't really woken up, and while I was talking I was getting messages that came over as beeps to my ear which I thought meant the message function had stopped [ too long a message] so I stopped talking, then realised and started again..
Ate out of the freezer last night and used up some potatoes that were yearning to be planted they were so wrinkly, but they made a nice mash. Best take some stuff out for supper tonight.
Have been perusing seed websites and filling up carts and then letting them expire. The ones I put back in again are obviously ones I really want..I'm definitely growing artichokes this year for instance, and fennel. See, it wasnt until the year before last I realised fennel herb and fennel bulb are the same thing, just one has gone to seed and one hasn't. You learn something new every year. I've been growing veg and herbs for about twelve years now so it's still possible to surprise me. Can't wait to get some black tomatoes sown, I didn't grow anything last year except some sunflowers and a couple of normal tomatoes and cucumbers. Another month and they're going in. I've decided [since the garden is mine], there's going to be a whole lot of veg this year and I think I'll try and get some straw to expermient with straw bale growing. If it doesn't work, I can still use the straw for paths or mulch.
Hope steve is better with the antis, Holly, thanks, I could! And make sure you don't over extend yourself! TA, I know what you mean about stir crazy.. Hester, hoping you'll be less knackered soon. Enjoy yourself Nelski, went to Brighton last year for a wedding, it was lovely. Dogs nosenot great news BTDT, wishing her the best.
Hope everyone can have an excellent Monday of whatever variety they can.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Camelot I would contact the fat clubs head office, or is there another group you could go to? The leader shouldn’t make you feel like that
Cold but bright here. Just another boring working day lol.0 -
Morning chums (just0 and a pottering monday morning here .very wet outside and I will be going to Dds shortly to let the dogs out into the garden The Jack Russell is Ok but the little maltese terrier just looks in askance at me with the expression of 'You want me,ME to go out in THAT '
he hates the wet weather :0 but out he must go no matter what . Then I will await the boys coming in from school Henry has done quite well in his mock A levels and managed an A and 2 Bs and is applying to Essex Uni to start in September hopefully so I will have two of the boys away this year and only the youngest Mikey left at school
DGS Ben the eldest boy is wanting to move out and live further into London in August and flat share with a pal so Dd will only have one of her five children left at home ,it will seem very quiet, and my job of helping to look after them will be almost over after 16 years
But I don't mind as I have lots of things in mind to fill my time with.
Hope everyone is warm and dry and safe and fingers crossed the white stuff will go away and we will get some nice spring weather
Time for lunch I think
Cheers chums

Afternoon.
My morning of graft was productive, a whole of assessment checklists done and only a few to go. I've brought home a piece of home-made birthday cake from a colleague, going into the office is lethal!
My mostly absent student from before Christmas has now withdrawn, that still leaves me with another for semester two.
The sun is trying to shine here though it's being overcome by the grey skies. It's still fairly mild so I'm sitting with the heated throw round me to keep the chill away.
BTDT - that's awful news, I hope that things turn out well.
I've got a cauliflower roasting in the oven which I'll take with me to Glasgow tomorrow.
It's time for tea!0 -
Have just got back from a trip to Aldi, My neighbour was going and offered me a lift, so I jumped on the bandwagon.
Guess what surfaced this morning.....yes the can opener, it was in the recycle bin outside, it must have got swept into the bag with the veg peelings. I have ordered an electric one, so this one will be a fall back opener.
Its a nice day, sun, blue sky but the wind is chilly.0 -

I remember clearly driving round a busy supermarket car park desperately looking for a space, while DD in the back shouted her newly learnt word: "CAR! CAR! CAR!". Replied through gritted teeth -"Yes, DD, there are lots of cars" (just no Bl%$$y spaces)!2021 - mission declutter and clean - 0/20210 -
