Cancelled motorbike insurance affecting my car insurance?

    I agree with the sentiment of what you are saying. There should be a difference in question sets, between a policy cancelled because of non-payment and a policy cancelled because of misrepresentation.

    However, you say that you are an insurance professional and this disturbs me somewhat. You will be, presumably, aware of the Disclosure and Representations Act 2012 which means that the Insured has a duty to make accurate statements.

    Accordingly, if the question says, 'have you ever had a policy cancelled' and does not qualify the type of cancellation, then the answer is black and white regardless of the internal informal view of your employer. If the question is answered incorrectly, the insurer will have an easy escape from a claim and their liabilities under the policy.

    I think that it's really important that you understand the consequences of your 'I'm a professional, trust me' advice on this forum, and possibly undertake some refresher courses in order to bring yourself up-to-date with the current position of the legislation
